My jump back into painting has not resulted in the big masterpieces I had planned. Instead I have just made what feels like a million little paintings – but in reality is like ten.
I’m still on domesticity as a general theme and I’m starting off by making studies of the little gestures in domestic life. Most of the little vignettes I’ve made are based off things I did for thanksgiving – a good excuse to call cooking all day homework. Here are just a few:
I love the way these little (about a foot wide) things can be done in a day. They’re such a satisfying way to get back into painting.
